The Real World is a reality television program on MTV originally produced by Mary-Ellis Bunim and Jonathan Murray. First broadcast in 1992, the show is the longest-running program in MTV history. The show focuses on the lives of a group of strangers who audition to live together in a house for several months, as cameras record their interpersonal relationships. The show moves to a different city each season. The footage shot during the housemates’ time together is edited into 44-minute episodes and footage is also posted on a site called Real World Dailies. The narration given over the opening title sequence by the seven housemates states some variation of the following: "This is the true story of seven strangers picked to live in a house work together and have their lives taped to find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real..." The twenty-fourth season is currently being cast in cities all across America. The location has been set and the house is ready for the cast's arrival. They will be living together in Toronto in a former condominium building that has been converted to fit the Real Word's standards of living. There are no televisions so the only entertainment they have is each other and the city surrounding them. Once they move in they'll have six months of filming instead of the usual four and intends to expand the number of roommates cast so MTV is prepared for much more drama than any other season. |

What you need to apply is fairly simple. We are not asking for a ton of detail on your character, just enough so that we know you've got a handle on them. You can do a small bio, a facts list, or a survey. It's up to you and so you can get your app in quickly it can even be a work in progress when you apply. We just need to see some sort of development. Challenges are allowed so feel free to apply even if you don't have a hold on a roommate position. If your application has been deleted that means you have not been accepted.
